Prairie Downs Metals, Ivernia move forward with farm-in for base metals project

Prairie Downs Metals’ (ASX: PDZ) joint venture partner Ivernia Australia Exploration has elected to enter into the farm-in option period for the Prairie Downs Base Metal Project in Western Australia.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Ivernia (TSX: IVW), Ivernia Australia will be required to invest a minimum of million over an 18 month period to earn the option to acquire a 60% interest in the project.

This interest can be acquired for the payment of million in cash or Ivernia shares.

Ivernia Australia expects to complete the first funding amount obligation expenditure of million within 18 months from the commencement date, following confirmation that the minimum obligation of million has been spent at the project.

Since signing the joint venture in June 2010, Ivernia has funded two drilling campaigns at the Prairie Downs project, which identified high grade zinc-lead-silver mineralisation and a large mineralised system at the Wolf prospect.

Interpretation of these results will help define targets for future drill programs.

If Ivernia chooses to take up the 60% interest in the project, it will then have the right to invest a further million to earn an 80% interest in the project, with Prairie retaining 20%.
