It’s an old truth of investing that precious metals like gold get better looking as the stock market grows uglier. Given the shakeup following Standard & Poor’s downgrading of America’s credit rating, investors are predictably flocking to such metals, hoping to hedge against uncertainty by stocking up on a tangible commodity. Is this a gold [...]

All across America, there are many who have identity theft happen. They might not even know that it has happened to them until it’s too late. However, there are many that when they hear this term, they don’t know a whole lot about id theft and therefore, they don’t use caution. When they don’t use caution, you find that they are the ones more likely to make a mistake and have this happen for them. This is why we are going to discuss a few things about this issue with you.
First of all, you have to know what this is. When we talk about identity theft, we are referring to when someone takes you identity which might be your Social Security number or other items that define who you are. They then use this without your consent and defraud the system.
The other thing that you have to understand is that there are a number of ways that they get this information. Some of these methods you might not even stop to think about. While some call your house posing as someone else, others might go through the trash to find papers that have people’s name on them. This is why it’s said that you really need to shred all important documents. You will find that these are the most common ways, but they aren’t the only ways.
Another thing that not enough people do and really should do is that if you can’t find a credit card or other card that have your information, you should report it lost or stolen. This is the biggest way that people gain access to who people are and how they steal their identity. If you have anything that you think might be lost, it’s important to report it as lost or stolen so they can get a fraud alert out.
What a fraud alert will do is notify authorities if your information including your Social Security number is used. When this happens, if they find that your identity is used, they will step in. The person who is caught will be given time in prison for stealing your identity. From there, you will want to close the accounts that have been used.
Some people aren’t that lucky. There are many who don’t find out until it’s brought to their attention that their identity has been stolen. When you find this out, you need to close down all the accounts and notify all associated businesses. There are some who have found that even after years, this has not been taken care of. They are still dealing with the after effects.
If you think that your identity has been stolen, you need to report this. When you do this and file a police report, you need to report this to the people that you have accounts with. They will put a fraud alert out so that if anything of yours is used, they will flag it. If they catch the person, the person will be in legal trouble big time.
Now that you know a bit more about id theft protection, you can do what you can to prevent it. Many don’t know enough about it. This is why reading things like this can be very helpful. Everyone thinks that it can’t happen to them but it really can as it happens to nine million Americans a year.

Treasury Metals (TSE:TML) announced Friday it has intersected high-grade gold from some of the deepest holes to date on its Goliath gold project in northwestern Ontario.
The company is currently drilling on two zones at the property – the Eastern Main Zone and the West Zone – which are located one kilometre along strike from one another.
The Eastern zone has been the focus of the company’s 50,000-metre drill program, which was initially supposed to total 20,000 metres, the results of which will be incorporated into a revised resource estimate slated for release in the fourth quarter.
Assays from this zone, which are from the eastern boundary of the current resource, returned 6.4 metres grading 8.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 4.4 metres at 11.6 g/t gold, in hole TL11-199.
Other notable results on this main zone included 10.5 metres grading 2.9 g/t gold, including 8.2 g/t gold over 2.6 metres, in hole TL11-193.
“These higher grade results, from some of the deepest holes drilled to date, continue to demonstrate the significance and tenor of the East Zone high-grade shoot that Treasury Metals has been defining this year,” said president and CEO, Martin Walter.
“I have also been encouraged by the continuing presence of visible gold recorded from within this zone which now shows very persistent vertical continuity to a depth of 500 metres – an elevation where many of the mines in northwestern Ontario just begin to demonstrate high-grade characteristics.”
While far less drilling has been completed on the West zone, it has become increasingly promising, Treasury said, and will likely become a significant focus in the future as it has the potential to add additional ounces to the overall resource.
Hole TL11-200 on the West zone returned 13.4 metres at 3.1 g/t gold, including 3.7 metres at 6.2 g/t gold; and hole TL11-196 found 5.8 metres grading 2.0 g/t gold.
Drilling continues at the property with two rigs, with a backlog of assays still to be processed. Results for the next 25 holes are pending, including a number of holes in the West zone.
